JUMP EYE: A Review

Video Playback and Editing Considerations

It is important to note that slow-motion videos imported from the camera roll will automatically playback at normal speed at both the beginning and end of the video. This could lead to inaccuracies in measuring jump height. To address this, users are advised to edit their videos in the Photos app prior to importing them into JUMP EYE. By accessing the edit screen and adjusting the white lines displayed at the bottom, users can ensure that playback reflects the desired slow-motion effect throughout the video.

Settings Adjustments

If you encounter issues launching the camera within JUMP EYE, it may be necessary to adjust your device's privacy settings. Searching for "JumpEye" within the settings application allows users to grant permissions related to photos, microphone, and camera access, ensuring seamless functionality.

Application Functionality

• Utilizes an iPhone’s high-speed camera to accurately measure vertical jump flight times.
• Procedure:
  1. Launch JUMP EYE and focus the camera on the athlete's feet.
  2. Record vertical jumps using either Slo-Mo (120/240 fps) or import pre-recorded videos from the Photo Library.
  3. Manually navigate through frame-by-frame playback to mark takeoff and landing moments for precise measurements.
  4. The application automatically computes flight duration and jump height based on these frames.
